Powell Goldstein LLP Chooses Mirage Networks Network Access Control Solution

Network Security Appliance Stops Threats Originating from the Network Interior

Austin, Texas – June 15, 2006 – Mirage Networks, developers of award-winning endpoint security solutions that combine leading network access control with policy enforcement and day-zero threat protection, today announced that Powell Goldstein LLP has chosen Mirage to secure its network.

“Mirage Networks presented us with an easy to implement network security solution that stops threats without interfering with network availability,” said James Usher, Chief Information Officer, Powell Goldstein LLP. “I have seen what a virus outbreak can do to staff productivity and wanted to ensure that we have taken the proper measures to protect our information assets at Powell Goldstein. The Mirage solution met our needs from a functionality and cost-efficiency perspective.”

"Powell Goldstein, like many of our law customers, required a security solution that stops day-zero threats which can take down networks, without introducing implementation and support complexity.” said Greg Stock, senior vice president of sales and marketing, Mirage Networks. “Securing the network interior to protect laptops, PCs, PDAs, VOIP phone systems, and printers from attack is critical to preserving a firm’s billable hours.”

Mirage Networks delivers an unique endpoint security solution that provides protection from day-zero threats and policy violations. If an infected device is plugged into the network and attempts to propagate an infection, or violate security policies, the Mirage solution immediately identifies the traffic as malicious and revokes the network access of that device. The device remains fully functional on its own, but can no longer connect to the network. This is accomplished without client-based software, without network redesign, and without the need to continually update signatures.
