Peter Ruijters Appointed Vice President, EMEA to Support Significant Growth in International Business
Austin, Texas – June 27, 2006 – Mirage Networks, developers of agentless endpoint control solutions that combine network access control with policy enforcement and day-zero threat prevention, today announced that it has appointed Peter Ruijters to lead new European headquarters based in the Netherlands. Mr. Ruijters brings more than 25 years of international management and business development experience to Mirage Networks, having worked with other industry leaders in the information security and networking sectors.
“Tools to secure the network perimeter abound in the market, but to truly secure an organization’s lifeblood – its critical data resources – perimeter defense is not enough,” states Mr. Ruijters. “Always-on wireless access, increased mobility, and a proliferation of new technologies have changed the security playing field. I joined Mirage because it offers a new, innovative approach to securing the network, with complete endpoint security that combines network access control and day-zero threat prevention wrapped around a strong policy enforcement core.”
Prior to joining Mirage Networks, Mr. Ruijters served as Managing Director, EMEA at Counterpane Internet Securities, a leading Managed Security Service Provider, and as Managing Director EMEA at SonicWALL, a provider of modular, high-performance security appliances.
“Mr. Ruijters brings to Mirage immense security expertise and a proven track record of accelerating growth in new markets for technology companies,” said Greg Stock, senior vice president of worldwide sales and marketing, Mirage Networks. “He will be invaluable to our company as we rapidly expand in overseas markets and maintain a leadership position in the global Network Access Control marketplace.”
Mirage Networks’ Endpoint Control solutions provide comprehensive, pre- and post-admission security to safeguard the network against infected, out-of-policy, and unmanaged devices. Its technology combines agentless Network Access Control with award-winning day-zero threat prevention and dynamic policy enforcement. Using patent-pending behavioral detection technology, Mirage identifies and then surgically isolates endpoints that are propagating threats or violating security policies. Mirage solutions are delivered on easy-to-deploy, network-based appliances that start securing the network immediately and are deployed out-of-band, eliminating the need to rearchitect the network or perform complex integrations.
