AUSTIN, Texas—February 15, 2007—Mirage Networks®, Inc., developer of award-winning,
patented network access control (NAC) technology, announced today that Northwest Mississippi
Community College (NWCC) has chosen Mirage Endpoint Control to protect its network from
threats and policy violations that can negatively impact operational costs and productivity. NWCC
is deploying Mirage to ensure that all endpoints are policy compliant before gaining network
access. Mirage’s solution forces endpoints to authenticate, then scans each device to ensure that
operating system patches, anti-virus software, anti-spyware, and host-based firewalls are present
and up-to-date.
"With more than 6,000 students on three campuses, we faced a formidable challenge to protect
our networks from devices we couldn’t reasonably manage," said Chuck Adams, Northwest
Mississippi Community College Network Administrator. “Mirage Endpoint Control was
exceptionally easy to deploy, and frees our IT staff to focus on projects instead of problems.”
The Mirage Endpoint Control solution monitors all network devices both before and after users
attempt to log onto the network, combining pre-admission authentication and compliance checks
with post-admission behavioral monitoring. The process delivers a comprehensive, full-cycle NAC
solution.
“NWCC is a perfect example of how networks with unmanaged endpoints can be secured
elegantly and easily,” said Greg Stock, president and CEO, Mirage Networks. "Mirage Endpoint
Control is effective in any network infrastructure, requires no agent software, and deploys out of
band while delivering the effectiveness of an inline solution. These attributes make Mirage the
easiest way to deploy NAC for any organization.”
