Global Retailer Gains Greater Network Visibility and Perimeter Defense
AUSTIN, Texas—March 26, 2007—Mirage Networks®, Inc., developer of award-
winning Network Access Control (NAC) technology, announced today that THE SAK, a
San Francisco-based handbag retailer, has chosen Mirage Networks Endpoint Control
to protect its network from threats and policy violations which can negatively impact
operational costs and business continuity.
THE SAK, founded in 1989, is the fourth largest handbag retailer in the United
States, selling in over 1900 department and specialty stores and 22 international
markets, as well as several online outlets.
"We needed greater visibility into our growing network environment, but did not
have the time and resources necessary to put an agent on every endpoint," said
Brad Bolton, IT manager for THE SAK. “Mirage Endpoint Control is easy to deploy,
easy to manage, and strengthens our perimeter defenses without requiring another
piece of software on the client workstation. Additionally, Mirage Endpoint Control
deploys without any network downtime and is completely transparent to our end
users.”
The Mirage Endpoint Control solution monitors all network devices both before and
after users attempt to log onto the network, combining pre-admission authentication
and compliance checks with post-admission behavioral monitoring. The process
delivers a comprehensive, full-cycle NAC solution.
“We are pleased to add another terrific brand name like THE SAK to our long list of
customers,” said Greg Stock, president and CEO of Mirage Networks. “THE SAK
recognized that Mirage is the easiest and most effective way to deploy Network
Access Control. Our solution is agentless, works in a heterogeneous network, and
deploys out-of-band, while delivering an unparalleled quarantining capability.”
About THE SAK
Mark Talucci (CEO) and Todd Elliott (President), founded THE SAK in 1989 with a
singular handbag, created from a unique fabrication. The immediate success of this
bag revealed a great demand in the marketplace for accessories crafted from unique
textiles. Encouraged, they began developing distinctive, richly textured weaves, and,
in 1994, launched THE SAK's signature fabrication, Tightweave. This exclusive
textile, designed into modern handbag shapes, garnered a tremendous following,
and propelled THE SAK to become the fourth largest handbag company in the United
States. Learn more at http://thesak.com.
