Company Benefits from Centralized Administration, Control and Content Reporting
for their Network Access Control Solution
AUSTIN, Texas—April 18, 2007—Mirage Networks®, Inc., developer of award-winning
Network Access Control (NAC) technology, announced today National Instruments
(NI, NASDAQ: NATI) of Austin, Texas has deployed Mirage Endpoint Control
integrated with Proventia® Management SiteProtector™ from IBM Internet Security
Systems (IBM ISS). The integration joins the easy-to-understand, centralized
management, control and reporting capabilities of SiteProtector with the powerful,
patented Mirage NAC solution to offer a central point of administration and control
across all Mirage and IBM ISS security products.
“We have realized immediate value in combining both solutions,” said Brett
Childress, director of IT Infrastructure, National Instruments. “Through tight
integration, we now get an enterprise view of security information from all of our IBM
ISS and Mirage products with endpoint state, threat posture, and policy compliance
for both managed and unmanaged devices from a single source.”
The Mirage Endpoint Control solution monitors all network devices both before and
after users attempt to log onto the network, combining pre-admission authentication
and compliance checks with post-admission behavioral monitoring. The process
delivers a comprehensive, full-cycle NAC solution. With the integration, Mirage and
IBM ISS customers gain an enterprise view of security policy and threat information
for all devices in the network, improved network team performance, enhanced
remote administration with context-sensitive drill-down of threat and vulnerability
events, and enhanced compliance reporting of all managed and unmanaged assets in
the network.
“The integration of Mirage technology with SiteProtector offers one of the simplest
and most thorough approaches for companies looking to deploy a comprehensive
NAC solution today,” stated Greg Stock, president and CEO, Mirage Networks.
“National Instruments puts high demands on its data security and business
continuity worldwide, so the easy deployment of the integrated solution was a
natural choice. It’s been our pleasure at Mirage to continue to meet and exceed the
expectations of this industry vanguard.”
