Focus on securing unmanaged assets, zero network latency enables businesses to secure VoIP and data
networks from attacks and vulnerabilities
AUSTIN, TX—January 28, 2008 – Mirage Networks, developer of the only patented Network Access Control
(NAC) solution, today announced that the Mirage NAC solution has successfully passed compliance testing with
key Internet protocol (IP) telephony solutions from Avaya Inc., a leading global provider of business
communications applications, systems and services. Mirage Networks has repeatedly achieved Avaya
compliance for each product release.
The Mirage solution protects the IP telephone and data network from devices on the network, using a
combination of agentless pre-admission and behavioral post-admission policy controls. Mirage Networks offers
the only NAC product that is:
- Full-Cycle: delivers pre-admission and post-admission policy enforcement out of the box
- Agentless: does not require endpoint agents
- Zero-day: catches immediate threats behaviorally—without signatures
- Layer Two: quarantines without switch integration
- Virtually Inline: provides inline effectiveness without network re-architecture
- Infrastructure-Independent: covers all devices, operating systems, and networks
The Mirage solution v3.2 is now compliance tested by Avaya for compatibility with Avaya Communications
Manager 4.0.1 and SIP Enablement Services 4.0.
“We are pleased to have again achieved Avaya compliance for our Network Access Control solution,” said
Michael D’Eath, vice president of corporate and business development, Mirage Networks. “Our customers need
to manage access to their entire network for all devices, and we are committed to delivering innovative
solutions for both managed and unmanaged devices that enable them to do that. By basing our solution on
interoperability with all network components, we can ensure cost-effective incorporation of Mirage products to
protect both voice and data networks.”
Mirage Networks is a member of the Avaya DevConnect Program—an initiative to develop, market and sell
innovative third-party products that interoperate with Avaya technology and extend the value of a company’s
investment in its network.
As a Gold member of the program, Mirage Networks is eligible to submit products for compatibility testing by
the Avaya Solution Interoperability and Test Lab in Lincroft, N.J. There a team of Avaya engineers develops a
comprehensive test plan for each application to verify whether it is Avaya compliant. Doing so ensures
businesses can confidently add best-in-breed capabilities to their network without having to replace their
existing infrastructure—speeding deployment of new applications and reducing both network complexity and
implementation costs.
“By offering compliance testing to the many innovative companies like Mirage Networks who are members of
our DevConnect program, Avaya promotes fully interoperable solutions that help businesses unleash powerful
new possibilities,” said Eric Rossman, vice president, developer relations and technical alliances for Avaya.
“They are able to use Intelligent Communications to connect employees and customers to information from
wherever they are, over whatever device they have available – getting more out of their multivendor network
and delivering new value to their bottom line.”
