Mirage Networks’ OASIS Draws Representatives from 36 Countries

Industry’s First NAC Users’ Conference Garners High Praise from Attendees

Austin, TX – March 4, 2008 – Mirage Networks, developer of the only patented Network Access Control (NAC) solution, last week conducted the NAC industry’s first international users’ conference, OASIS 2008. The first annual event kicked off on February 25th in Austin, Texas and attracted over 120 security professionals, analysts, and journalists from around the globe. OASIS featured keynote presentations from industry experts as well as breakout sessions for NAC users to explore how they can further optimize their security investments.

Among the conference highlights:

  • Greg Stock, president and CEO, opened the event with highlights of Mirage’s strong performance, his views of the NAC landscape, and a glimpse into the future of network security
  • Former White House security advisor and pioneer in information security Howard A. Schmidt shared insights and anecdotal case studies in the field of cyber crime and profiled today’s cutting-edge security technologies for addressing these threats
  • IBM Distinguished Engineer and CTO IBM Internet Security Systems (ISS) Christopher Rouland addressed the future of increasingly sophisticated network threats and NAC’s role in protecting valuable data
  • Burton Group Vice President and IDPS Research Director Bob Blakely talked about the need for specialized devices to secure the network infrastructure
  • IT professionals from educational institutions around the US presented a specialized panel discussion addressing the unique security challenges faced by schools, colleges, and universities
  • Mirage’s Customer Advisory Council President and director of IT infrastructure for National Instruments Brett Childress shared his real world NAC success story
  • Conference attendees previewed new Mirage technologies at the hands-on solutions showcase
  • Mirage Networks officially announced the company’s 500th customer and presented awards recognizing customer achievements.   • Conference attendees enjoyed a Texas-flavored evening of barbeque and live music in downtown Austin
