Fullerton College Deploys Mirage Networks’ NAC Solution for Campus Network
Mirage Endpoint Control Helps Colleges, Universities Ensure 24 x 7 Network Security

AUSTIN, Texas—November 20, 2006--Mirage Networks(R), Inc., developer of award-winning Network Access Control (NAC) technology, announced today that Fullerton College of Fullerton, California has chosen Mirage Endpoint Control to secure its campus network.

"Like most colleges and universities, we must ensure that our network is secure and available to students, teachers, and administrators, 24 x 7," said Co Ho, System Technology Services Manager, Fullerton College. “With a steady stream of dispersed endpoints accessing our network, we need the capability to monitor each endpoint and to quarantine any infected or out-of-policy device, while keeping the network up and running for all.”

The Mirage Endpoint Control solution monitors all network devices both before and after users attempt to log onto the network, combining pre-admission authentication and compliance checks with post-admission behavioral monitoring. The process delivers a comprehensive, full-cycle NAC solution.

“Fullerton College required the ability to surgically isolate endpoints that violate IT policy or exhibit threatening behavior before they impact network operations,” stated Greg Stock, executive vice president of worldwide operations, Mirage Networks. "Mirage Endpoint Control offers colleges and universities a new level of security that authenticates users and scans each endpoint for compliance and policy violations on admission, then continues to monitor endpoint behavior after admission.”

Fullerton College joins a growing list of colleges and universities that rely on Mirage Networks to keep their networks secure and operational including The Pennsylvania State University, The Thomas Cooley Law School, Lafayette College and The University of Tokyo. Institutions of higher learning, as well as large and small enterprises recognize Mirage’s unique pre- and post-admission endpoint control as the leader among NAC solutions. IT departments everywhere are realizing that full-cycle endpoint control is critical to ensuring network uptime.

The Mirage Endpoint Control solution is being deployed at Fullerton College by Vega Business Technologies. ”We work with several higher education institutions throughout Southern California and they are all impacted by security threats from both inside and outside the network. Mirage offers a unique solution to address the education security threat,” stated Stephanie Janke, Vega customer support team manager.
