AUSTIN, Texas—November 22, 2006--Mirage Networks(R), Inc., developer of award-winning Network Access Control (NAC) technology, has been named a finalist in SC Magazine’s Awards program for outstanding achievement in information technology (IT) security. Mirage Networks Endpoint Control was named in the Reader Trust Award “Best Endpoint Security Solution” category. Winners will be announced at an awards event to be held in San Francisco in February.
Mirage Endpoint Control was among nearly 400 entries submitted in nine technology categories. Placement in the SC Magazine Awards program is based on voting by more than 9,000 of the publication’s readers.
“Innovations like what we’ve seen from Mirage Networks demonstrate the vibrancy and vitality of the IT security industry,” says SC Magazine Editor-in-Chief Illena Armstrong. “They represent breakthroughs that will benefit our readers and, in turn, corporate users of technology.”
The Mirage agentless network access control solution performs risk assessment on all endpoints, known or unknown, regardless of device or operating system, providing continuous control over endpoints. When security policy violations are detected, the Mirage solution quarantines at-risk devices, surgically isolating offenders and providing a path for rapid remediation.
"It is an honor to be selected as a finalist for an SC Magazine Reader Trust Award," said Greg Stock, executive vice president of worldwide operations, Mirage Networks. "The recognition from leading IT security professionals worldwide further validates the value of our endpoint security solution."
This is the second year that Mirage Networks has been recognized by the SC Magazine Reader Trust Award program. Mirage Networks won the 2006 award for Best Anti-Worm Solution.
