Santa Fe Natural Tobacco Company Chooses Mirage Networks for Agentless Endpoint Control; Full-Cycle Network Access Control to Increase Productivity and Reduce Operational Costs

Austin, Texas – August 29, 2006 – Mirage Networks(R), developers of the award-winning endpoint control solution, announced today that the Santa Fe Natural Tobacco Company has selected Mirage Endpoint Control to protect its network from threats and policy violations which can negatively impact operational cost and productivity.
"First and foremost, we were looking for an agentless approach to Network Access Control (NAC)," stated Maynard Cowan, Director of System Services, Santa Fe Natural Tobacco Company. "In addition, we were looking for a solution that was easy to implement, easy to support, and cost-effective. We have been watching the NAC space evolve and determined that Mirage had the best fit and lowest total cost approach for Santa Fe. We are confident that we have aligned ourselves with the market leader in Mirage Networks."

Mirage Networks offers agentless endpoint control that is:

  • Comprehensive: delivers pre- and post-admission policy enforcement out of the box
  • Practical: agentless technology protects ALL IP devices, known and unknown, managed and unmanaged
  • Immediate: catches day-zero threats behaviorally without signatures
  • Effective: quarantines at-risk endpoints at Layer 2 without switch integration
  • Manageable: provides inline effectiveness in an out-of-band design that does not require network rearchitecture
  • Flexible: covers all OSs and all devices, including headless devices and IPTel networks

"The key differentiators of our full-cycle NAC solution are impossible to ignore," states Greg Stock, executive vice president of worldwide operations for Mirage Networks. "We have taken the leadership position in the NAC space because we have delivered a 'whole product' that approaches the problem in a completely unique way. We are pleased to add Santa Fe Natural Tobacco Company to our list of more than 300 customers."
