Austin, TX – January 13, 2008 – Mirage Networks, developer of patented, full-cycle Network Access Control (NAC) technology, today announced that William Woods University, a liberal arts university in Missouri, has selected Mirage Networks’ NAC solution to secure the residential network from threats in an environment of unmanaged endpoints. The university is deploying full-cycle NAC in their resnet with plans to expand to the faculty and staff networks next year.
“One challenge of effectively managing a residential network is the number of unknown student devices getting on and off the network and the threats they bring with them,” said Steven Goodson, Network Support Administrator at William Woods University. “After an unsuccessful attempt with Cisco for two years, we found that the Mirage solution just works. By registering devices and managing the traffic more effectively, Mirage allows us to keep our residence hall networks running smoothly.”
Mirage’s NAC solution enables maximum network performance by controlling network access, isolating non-compliant and threatening endpoints, and providing self-remediation capabilities. Mirage’s network-based solution is the easiest NAC solution to deploy, as it requires no agent software, deploys virtually inline, and works in any network environment.
