Highlights Include 200% Sales Growth, A Major New Patent Licensee, And Integration With SiteProtector™

Austin, Texas—Aug 7, 2007—Mirage Networks®, the pioneer of Network Access Control (NAC) solutions, today announced a record first half of 2007. The company reports strong revenue growth, landmark partnerships within the security industry, and the introduction of an innovative branch office appliance. In the first half of 2007, the company recorded:

  • 200% sales growth, compared to the same period in 2006
  • An expansion of its global customer base, with more than 425 customers across 35 countries
  • A strengthening of its worldwide ChannelFirst Partner network, now including more than 145 partners
  • More than 40 new NAC customers deploying both the pre- and post-admission functionality
  • Integration with IBM Proventia Management SiteProtector
  • A major licensee of a Mirage Patent for NAC technology

One of Mirage’s significant accomplishments was the successful integration with IBM Proventia Management SiteProtector, melding its easy-to-understand, centralized management and content reporting with the powerful, patented Mirage Endpoint Control appliance. The integration allows for an enterprise view of security information with endpoint state, threat posture, and policy compliance for all managed and unmanaged devices, even VoIP and smart phones.

Mirage also introduced its first branch office appliance, designed to create an interconnected network fabric for organizations with numerous remote offices. The appliance integrates with a Mirage Operations Console for centralized control and reporting. The latest appliance is also an effective solution for small businesses looking for an easy and affordable option to securing their network infrastructure.

During 2007, Mirage Networks celebrated the award of the company’s first NAC patent for its authentication and quarantine capabilities, and its first patent licensee under its newly formed patent license program. Mirage Networks Agentless Endpoint Control, with ten patents pending and one US patent issued, includes both pre- and post-admission security, which the industry often refers to as “Full Cycle NAC.” Unlike other solutions, the Mirage appliance controls endpoints’ network access both at the point of network entry, and during the entire time the endpoint remains on the network. This method of ensuring that endpoints are compliant with security policy and free of infections prevents threats from spreading within the network interior.

“We’re extremely excited about our momentum through the first half of the calendar year,” said Greg Stock, president and CEO of Mirage Networks. “NAC budgets are solid and growing and we have experienced an all-time high in the number and value of transactions. Our customers continue to cite our strong value proposition: the market’s easiest to deploy NAC solution with no agents to manage, no inline devices to install and an ability to work in any network infrastructure.”
