Austin, TX – April 8, 2008 – Mirage Networks today announced a new release of its patented Network Access Control (NAC) solution, building on its success in bringing full-cycle NAC coverage to enterprise customers worldwide. In addition to addressing major standards and compliance initiatives, the new version bolsters Mirage’s position as the easiest NAC solution to implement.
The newest release leverages standards by offering support for 802.1x, the de facto port-based NAC standard. Mirage enhances 802.1x by providing ongoing threat detection after devices are allowed to connect to the network. Mirage’s solution also makes it easier for customers to gradually implement 802.1x where their existing infrastructure supports it, while offering full protection that is not reliant on 802.1x in other parts of the network.
Also in this release, Mirage builds on its powerful reporting capabilities to address specific compliance auditing requirements. The new reports give customers unprecedented visibility into every endpoint that connects, including elements of identity, endpoint status, and behavioral patterns. A network profile timeline allows customers to see an endpoint’s historical network usage-session-by-session-for the duration of each connection.
“Our customers need power through simplicity more than ever.” said David Thomas, vice president of products for Mirage. “Our product’s capabilities are expanding in step with the pace of network threat and compliance needs. While our latest release is more powerful, it empowers our customers to solve problems quickly and easily.”
Mirage’s NAC solution effectively enables maximum network performance by controlling network access, isolating non-compliant and threatening endpoints, and providing self-remediation capabilities. Mirage’s network-based solution is the easiest NAC solution to deploy, as it requires no agent software, deploys “virtually inline,” and works in any network environment.
