Austin, TX – November 21, 2005 – Mirage Networks, Inc., developers of award-winning Full-Cycle Network Access Control™ (NAC) technology, today announced that its customer, National Instruments, received the prestigious 2005 Network World Enterprise All-Star Award, based on that customer’s deployment of Mirage Networks technology.
"National Instruments' winning technology project centered around a deployment of Mirage Networks agent-less security appliances. This project solved the difficult problem of securing thousands of employee desktops scattered in 40 countries against worms. It did so while saving National Instruments hundreds of thousands of dollars, thereby earning recognition on Network World's Enterprise All-Star Award list," said Julie Bort, executive editor of Network World's Signature Series.
The Network World Enterprise All-Star Awards recognize exceptional use of network technology to further business objectives of organizations across a range of industry segments. For the 2005 award, 50 enterprise IT organizations, representing the best, most innovative applications of network technology, were selected. Mirage Networks develops a unique NAC solution that provides protection against internal and external threats at the access/distribution layer – where users attach to the firm’s network. If an infected device is plugged into the network and attempts to propagate an infection, or violate security policies, Mirage NAC immediately identifies the traffic as malicious and revokes the network access of that device, then offers deep scanning, targeted quarantine, and self-contained remediation capabilities. This is accomplished without client-based software, without network redesign, and without the need to continually update signatures.
